Gallery 1 • Atwater Kent Radio

In 1902 Atwater Kent formed the Atwater Kent Manufacturing Works in Philadelphia to build electrical parts. This became the Atwater Kent Mfg. Co. in 1919. In 1919 Mr. Kent had 25 US patents, and eventually held 93! By 1923 he was making his first radios. In the early part of the 1920's his radio company was the largest radio company and sold well over 1.3 million radios.
